Slicing a tomato was near impossible and as for chopping up a pumpkin forget it!! I was considering buying a new set. Duncan has done a brilliant job bringing them back to life. "I have wanted to sharpen my knives for a long time. I found Duncan - the Knife Wizard on google today and decided to drive up to see him at Tamborine. The results speak for themselves. I took 2 knives - one was a decent Japanese Santoku knife I got from Amazon and the other was was a replica of the blades they have in the anime 'Attack on Titan'. Duncan sharpened them and they are professional level sharp now. His prices are fantastic and he has excellent service- he is a mobile service so if you have a few knives - he will come to you.
